Executive Director
The Arc of Anchorage is seeking an Executive Director to provide visionary leadership to an organization dedicated to excellence in the provision of services to people who experience disabilities. The Executive Director is responsible for promoting the mission and core values and, in partnership with the Board of Directors, creating and implementing its vision and goals. The Executive Director oversees the day-to-day operation of the organization, including a staff of 425 employees, serving 500 individuals with a $20M budget.
The ideal candidate will preferably have a master’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ work experience in human services, with at least 3 years in senior management. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a passion for supporting individuals experiencing disabilities and their families and possess strong leadership, financial and administrative skills.

Human Resource Assistant, 1FT
The Human Resource Assistant provides technical assistance to the Human Resource department in the areas of applicant file maintenance, database maintenance, and word processing. Duties also include communicating with the public, job applicants, and employees. Provide quality customer service always. Responsible for the development and maintenance of an applicant processing system that produces an outcome of accurate and readily available applicant information to stakeholders. Respond to applicant’s questions concerning open positions and status of applications. Assist with the collection of required documents to include, state, federal, and agency required documents, and any additional pertinent information/documents. Assist with the placement of job ads on the Arc website and various job recruitment websites. Other assigned duties.
HS diploma/GED. Sufficient education or professional experience to have attained skills required for the position; strong word-processing skills, spread sheets, ten key, accuracy in spelling, grammar and proofing; demonstrated experience with databases; demonstrated computer proficiency. Background clearance as defined by licensing agencies. Current TB test.
Hours : Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
Maintenance Technician, 1FT
The Maintenance Technician must be able to perform maintenance and repairs to plumbing, heating, electrical systems, carpentry, appliances, and virtually every other phase of building repair. Proficiency with a truck-mounted snowplowing is desirable and able to drive a van. Must be able to organize and complete reports without direct supervision. Have the skills necessary to operate a personal computer using Microsoft software including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Responsibilities also include security, maintenance, janitorial, landscaping, and other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager. Must be able to work flexible hours and take ownership of maintaining The Arc facilities.
Must have a valid Alaska Drivers’ license; 7 years’ driving experience, clean driving record, and complete a defensive driving course given by The Arc. A background check, TB test, and Hepatitis B vaccination is required.

Job Developer, 1FT Supported Employment
The Job Developer provides intake, functional assessment, job placement, and develops relationships with businesses in the community. The expected outcome ultimately being increased job opportunities and placements for the individuals we serve. It is also to provide individuals receiving employment services with transportation assistance to include: mobility training, coordination/scheduling of transportation services, direct and indirect skill training, retention strategies, quality control, oversees job design, utilization of natural supports, accommodations, fading and integration; job analysis and job proposals, and advocates for employee’s employment needs and interests.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Business or a related field preferred. Minimum of four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be at least 18 years old, valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and required level of auto insurance. Background check and TB test required.
Hours: M–F 8am – 5pm
The Live-In Life Skills Coach provides the quality active support; care and supervision necessary to help individuals with developmental disabilities realize their full potential while living in a residential home of The Arc of Anchorage. The Life Skills Coach resides in the home with the individuals similar to a normal, family like setting assists in independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, managing medication, and appropriate social skills. The Live in Life Skills Coach is responsible for assisting individuals in pursuing their personal dreams and goals related to community activities, social interactions, essential life skills and personal hygiene tasks. The Life Skills Coach ensures the health, safety, and well-being of each individual in the home. Additionally, the Life Skills Coach ensures that the home is well maintained and cared for. The Life Skills Coach also provides transportation to the individual residents to various outings, appointments or work. Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency including basic word processing/typing, following directions, and spelling with accuracy.
Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or GED required. Extensive experience in social services and direct support of individuals experiencing disabilities required. Background check and TB test required. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. CPR & First Aid certifications, ASL fluent. An Arc application must be submitted to be considered for any position.
